Barry Cooper

IMG_0324BarryHeadIn 2001, Barry Cooper was working as a manager for Disney when he began taking yoga to help manage stress, asthma, and severe allergies. This awakened a deep desire in him to go deeper into the practice and then to share it with others. He completed his 200-hour teacher training with Edely Wallace through Yoga Matrix Studio in Orlando, Florida. While continuing to work for Disney, he graduated from the Florida College of Natural Health-Orlando Campus’s European Swedish Massage Program. In his study of yoga and massage, two particular areas drew Barry into deeper study – Thai Body Work and Ayurvedic Medicine. Barry obtained over 200 hours of study of Thai Body Work with Mukti Michael Buck of the Vedic Conservatory and began his ongoing study of Ayurveda through the Ayurvedic Academy based in Seattle and with Dinesh and Julia Mader of Rasayana Cove in Ona, Florida.  He continued his studies through California College of Ayurveda and recently received his credentials as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

Barry’s wealth of experience includes traveling to London, England for clients, working in and opening two spas in prominent Orlando resort hotels, teaching two and three day courses all over the country in Thai Body Work for the Vedic Conservatory, and teaching massage classes for Steiner Institute in Orlando and Pinellas Park.

Through his company, Ayurvedic Massage and Yoga of Central Florida, and in partnership with Living Room Yoga, LLC, Barry offers Ayurvedic lifestyle consultations, treatments, and workshops, private hatha, Ayurvedic, and Ayurvedic-Thai yoga instruction, and yoga classes to bring the same life-changing, mind-calming benefits he has experienced to his clients and students. He also offers continuing education in Ayur-Thai yoga for massage therapsists.

Barry is an avid practitioner of living an Ayurvedic lifestyle with his business partner and wife, Stacy, who credits Barry with keeping them healthy and out of the doctor’s office!
