My Energy Cup is Broken

We all have times when we feel like our energetic cup is empty. Ideally we recognize when we need to take the time for renewal and take the necessary steps to refuel our bodies and our souls. At times, however, it seems almost impossible to take the time we need . Poor finances keep us burning the candle at both ends to try to get ahead of the next month’s bills. And forget taking a refreshing vacation … not only can we not afford to go anywhere, we cannot afford to even take the time off. The harder we work, the more that a sense of natural flow eludes us. That is how I have been feeling lately. Not only is my cup empty, I think it may be cracked!
What I love to do is teach and heal. I could do this all day long and feel a great sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. However, the depressed economy necessitates my spending more time marketing to expand our presence in the community. Social networking, online networking, health fairs, flyer marketing … these activities dominate my thoughts and efforts. Being an introvert by nature, the social situations exhaust me. This I am sure has contributed to my cracked cup feeling.
I am off to Boston tomorrow for 8 days. I will be studying yoga with Karin Stephan and I imagine, doing a lot of sitting in stillness. I find that sitting in stillness is necessary for repairing cracked cups.
